Each year, the Progressive Seniors Club hosts the Lucille Chenault Senior Ball. Cincinnati's version of the event was held at the Duke Energy Center. Lucille launched the first ball back in 1974 after an illness confined her to a nursing home and she personally experienced the challenges many seniors face. Her dream was to create an event where one day out of the year seniors could look forward to getting dressed up, socializing and interacting with each other. Our
facility, along with many other local nursing communities was recently privileged to attend the organization's 44th ball. Some highlights of the evening included meeting the Cincinnati mayor, a wheelchair polka, crowning a king and queen, and prizes including a gift for the oldest resident in attendance. DJ Willie C resurrected fond memories with music from earlier eras blended with pop favorites which had everyone dancing. It was a delightful evening for donning our elegant attire and dancing shoes, enjoying great food, connecting with old friends and making new ones.
