It's hard to believe that it's almost Halloween all ready, so the little ones at Waverly Day Care decided to stop by. They're so excited to come dressed in their costumes and our residents truly get a kick out of visiting with them. It doesn't get much cuter than this!

We're All Smiles

The first Friday in October every year is World Smile Day and Liberty Colerain happily joined the celebration. Apparently, the creator of the famous smiley face was worried about the symbol being over commercialized and out of that concern came the idea for World Smile Day. We love that the icon knows no politics, geography or religion and try to devote everyday to smiles and kind acts, but we're especially pleased to put our joy in overdrive on this special day. Delicious cheeseburgers followed by smiley faced cookies brought out everyone's smile of course.

Summer Luau Party

We hated to see summer go by so quickly, but ended it on a high note with a colorful, festive Luau Party in late August. Our favorite entertainer, Rich Monroe, was on hand to set the mood with music from the islands. Residents enjoyed a dance contest and sipped refreshing pineapple drinks and tropical smoothies. Although we hate to lose summer, we're getting ready to fully embrace autumn with a fall party celebration in mid September. Rich Monroe will be providing 50's – 60's musical entertainment for this event as well, so watch our activities calendar for more details and our blog for highlights.

First responder appreciation

August was the month for recognizing the work and dedication of our first responders. Liberty Nursing Center of Colerain got on board by hosting a very special meal to show our appreciation. Our admissions director and administrator as well as our dietary group, did a fabulous job hosting this event. The community turn out and support was wonderful and everyone enjoyed delicious beef brisket, coleslaw, rolls and of course some great desserts. Thank you again first responders...your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.

Summer Fiesta

We love summer, and kicked it off in special Liberty style with a lively Summer Fiesta. It was received so well by residents and guests, that we’ve decided to make it a permanent annual event. Who doesn’t go crazy over munching on chips with mouthwatering salsa and wonderful cheeses? Everyone danced, clapped and tapped to the music of Rich Monroe who’s Elvis routine brought the house down. Stay tuned for next year!

Miniature Horse Visit

Research has suggested that the presence of animals can provide many health benefits to people of every age. They promote increased happiness, calmness and overall emotional well-being, and this is especially true for the elderly. Our residents were recently treated to a visit from Bonnie’s Angels, a husband and wife team, who enjoy sharing their miniature horses with the public. Tequila Sunshine (the male) and Impressible (the female) also appreciated the visit as they eagerly soaked up attention and love from our residents. Everyone enjoyed seeing and petting them. Lots of questions were asked, and we’re all looking forward to a repeat visit in the fall.
