Every day spent with our residents is special, but this August we had a little extra fun by celebrating some of the month’s “official” special days! Of course, we couldn’t pass up National Soft Serve Ice Cream Day. Residents enjoyed an ice cream social with several flavor options. By the end of the party, the strawberry soft serve container was nearly empty, making it the clear crowd favorite!
Next, we refreshed ourselves on National Lemonade Day. Residents sampled strawberry, raspberry, and peach lemonade. Once again, strawberry came out on top! When asked the classic question, “What do you do when life gives you lemons?” our residents gave a resounding answer: “Make lemonade!”
To round out the month, we celebrated Banana Lovers Day with a fun game. Residents tossed bananas into baskets worth different point values, and the winner received a cozy pair of banana socks!
We had such a great time celebrating these lighthearted days, and we’re looking forward to all the fun September has in store!
