These moments together, in addition to our regularly scheduled activities, are what make life here at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield so special. Whether it’s a creative afternoon crafting pumpkins or a spontaneous scenic drive after coffee, it’s the laughter, connection, and shared experiences that truly brighten our days.
One of our favorite things about fall is the wonderful variety of aromas it brings. Sometimes it’s the crisp scent of fallen leaves or the lingering smoke from an evening campfire on those perfect, cool days. Other times, it’s the comforting fragrance of cozy foods cooking that delights our senses most.
This week, we satisfied our love of fall aromas with a Chili Cook-Off! Throughout the day, residents and staff enjoyed the mouthwatering scent of chili simmering in different parts of the facility. When the time finally came, everyone had the chance to sample five delicious chilis, each lovingly prepared by a member of our staff.
After much tasting and deliberation, the winners were announced:
1st Place — Administrator Angel, who took home a gift certificate and trophy.
2nd Place — Transportation/Medical Records/Central Supply Coordinator Dori (a woman of many talents!), who received a ladle for serving up future pots of chili.
3rd Place — Business Manager Michelle, who earned a flavorful prize of chili seasoning.
A big thank-you also goes out to Raquel and Jen for donating the cheese and bread — their contributions truly took our chili experience to the next level!
